CEJAR LAGOON

FLOAT IN A SALT LAGOON AND FEEL THE MAGIC OF THE DESERT

Laguna Cejar is a hypersaline lagoon located in the heart of the Atacama Salt Flat. Its high salt concentration makes floating in its waters a unique and unforgettable experience.

The Laguna Cejar complex resembles a small inland sea in the middle of the desert. Salt has created an incredible landscape, with crystalline formations and a white crust covering much of its shores.

The high concentration of salt in the water makes it much denser than the human body, allowing it to float effortlessly and offering a panoramic view of the entire Andes Mountains around it.

What to bring:

1.5L of water per person

Sunglasses

Sunscreen

Cap or Hat

Go dressed in your swimsuit

Towel

Hiking boots or sneakers

Slipper

Light jacket or windbreaker

IMPORTANT : Sunscreen contains an oil that leaches into the water and kills the lagoon's fauna (in this case, brine shrimp, a small crustacean). Therefore, it is prohibited to apply sunscreen before entering the lagoon. Ideally, apply sunscreen before leaving for the tour. After bathing, the park has showers where you can rinse off excess salt and then apply your usual sunscreen.
