Volcano ascents are considered high altitude, so acclimatization time is required in San Pedro de Atacama due to the high altitude. We recommend taking at least two tours at altitudes over 4,000 meters to acclimate your body to these extreme conditions, as well as ensuring adequate hydration and rest.
