LASCAR VOLCANO

COME VISIT THE MOST ACTIVE VOLCANO IN NORTHERN CHILE

Lascar Volcano is the most active volcano in northern Chile, with 30 recorded eruptions from the 19th century to the present day. It has six craters, with the central crater emitting large fumaroles that can be seen mainly in the morning.

The ascent route is 110km southeast of San Pedro de Atacama where we pass Laguna Legía before beginning the ascent.

It's a hike of low technical difficulty, with a well-marked trail of intermediate physical difficulty, where we walk to the volcano's central crater and, if possible, to the summit. The approximate ascent time is 3 hours and the descent time is 1.5 hours.

The tour includes:

Transport

Breakfast

Certified high mountain guide

Mountain equipment if necessary

What to bring:

Trekking boots

Three layers of clothing

Hat and Cap

Gloves

Sunscreen

Sunglasses

1.5L of water for more

Minimum 2 people

Volcano ascents are considered high altitude, so acclimatization time is required in San Pedro de Atacama due to the high altitude. We recommend taking at least two tours at altitudes above 4,000 meters to acclimate your body to these extreme conditions, as well as ensuring adequate hydration and rest.
